Woqod launches 2 new petrol stations

Mubasher: Qatar Fuel (Woqod) on Thursday announced that it has opened two new petrol stations as part of the company’s expansion plans.

Located in Lusail, the two stations are Fox Hill and Woqod Hamad International Airport petrol stations (Woqod HIA), according to Woqod’s statement to the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE).

The new opening increases the firm’s network of various petrol stations to 69 across Qatar.

The firm did not give further details concerning the stations’ total cost.

Fox Hill station is spread over an area of 9,400 square meters and has 4 lanes with 12 dispensers that will serve Lusail City and its neighborhood, while Woqod HIA station covers an area of 11,700 square meters and has 4 lanes with 8 dispensers that will serve those frequenting Doha City and its neighborhood.

“We are pleased to open two new petrol stations in Lusail – Fox Hill and WOQOD HIA. WOQOD aspires to expand its petrol station network in the country to meet the rising demand for petroleum products and achieve the goal of providing customers with access to best-in-class products and services at their convenience and comfort,” Woqod’s CEO Saad Rashid Al Muhannadi said.

Woqod is now working on constructing a new petrol station, along with announcing the opening of new petrol stations during this month to meet fuel and energy needs of the country.

It is worth noting that Woqod’s net profits hiked 34.9% to QAR 503 million for the first half of 2018, from QAR 373 million in H1-17.
